Vintage Collins station was purchased from an estate and hadn't been used for 15 years.  It  was missing cables, knobs, tubes, manuals, etc and didn't work.  When  restoration was completed, it passed for new and performed flawlessly.  It's now in England.

Current vintage station consists of a Hammarlund HQ129X receiver, circa 1946; a Drake 2A SSB/CW/AM receiver, circa 1961, and a Central Electronics 20A transmitter (circa 1958), with matching VFO--one of the very first SSB transmitters.  It uses phase modulation [as contrasted with filter type rigs].  This station is routinely operated on 3885 in the mornings with the AM crowd, or on 3870 Wednesdays evenings on the boat anchor net.  This vintage station is also used on 10, 20 and 40 meters AM and SSB.  An audio system similar to the one used with my primary station is also used.   The Vintage station is normally operated in conjunction with a Henry 4K2 amp.  An Icom 706 Mk2G (primarily used as the mobile rig) is  kept in the vintage operating position to verify frequency, audio quality, etc.
